We stayed at Les a Pignons and had a wonderful time there. The owners, Jo and Adie were welcoming and could not do enough to make our stay perfect!
We had dinner (which can be pre-arranged, as well as the B&B arrangement) and it was truly delicious. Jo is a fantastic host and cook.
The pictures do not fully describe the setting, which is truly stunning, rural France. The lake is large and full of carp, which are fed each evening. The nine-hole golf course will offer a challenge for golfers of every level and the games room / honesty bar is a fabulous place to spend time and have fun.
If you have a family who want to experiment with different activities and don’t want to have to leave the grounds to do something different everyday, this is the place for you!

This is the most unique place we’ve ever stayed – it’s stunning location, high quality accommodation and fantastic hosts make this place unbelievable. It was my husbands birthday whilst we were there so prior to arrival I was constantly emailing Jo asking advice and she helped me create a taylor made holiday for us all. She booked and organised many activities on site and also off site.
Although Jo and Adie live on site, they are discreet and as the land and area
the gite is within is soooo large, you only see them if you need them, or if you want them!! However they are also willing to do anything to ensure your holiday is perfect!
You could easily spend two weeks here and not leave, or you could visit the many many places that are within an hours drive! I’d recommend this to couples, families, and small groups of friends (although the gite sleeps 5, they also have high spec bed and breakfast rooms which they rent out – but only if they’re booked with the gite, you do have exclusive use of 9 hole golf course pool bar area table tennis lake fishing etc…). The whole areas / buildings you see photographed on the website is solely for your use!! Truly stunning!!!
On my husbands birthday we had a 5 course meal cooked and served by Jo and Adie which was quite honestly exquisite! Far better than many restaurant meals!!
Even once there Jo and Adie were happy to set up extra activities i hadn’t requested prior to arrival like a bbq by the lake whilst fishing, archery and arranged a vineyard tour too.
Amaxing amaxing place we will definitely be returning!

I stayed here with my parents in May 2018, and what a lovely relaxing trip it was. The gite is really comfortable, with all the equipment you might need (including British TV!) and its own sunny patio. We didn’t manage to get into the pool this time but it was fabulous to be able to walk out of the gite’s door and out into the huge grounds here – a lake with free frogs’ chorus, golf, gym and games room to name a few of the things to do. The gite is well situated too, not far from the autoroute so easy access to Bordeaux for the airport, and lots of beautiful villages, chateaux and other things to do, including of course some great vineyards. Some tips – take a walk around the ramparts of Roquebrune for some great views, and try the Saturday morning market in La Reole for local produce. And St Emilion is a must-see too. Highly recommended, I’ll be back to stay again!

We stayed for two weeks at the end of August and the children have not stopped asking when we’re going back!
Jo and Adie were fantastic hosts and organised lots of fun things for our children aged 6 and 3. A treasure hunt, collecting eggs from the chickens, golf, sack races, egg and spoon races and much more.
The gite is ideally located not far from a choice of airports and near to many attractions. Having visited the area many times before we didn’t venture out much as the gite had so much to enjoy, the pool, bar, table tennis, pool table, golf, the lake and the extensive grounds kept us all happy and relaxed for the whole 2 weeks.
Jo and Adie were on hand should we need anything but we felt we had privacy too so the best of both worlds.
We would not hesitate to book again, in fact if we don’t the children may just book themselves!

Gites des Pignons is a perfect place for a holiday in S/W France near the pilgrimage road and the small village of Roquebrune. The flat suits a family or a couple – or you can go on your own. Lots of attractions and town to visit in the nearby area: St. Emilion, La Reole e.g. – small markets, lovely landscape, wine yards, historic places. You are not bored. But if you prefer to relax there is also plenty to do at Gites des Pignons: Swimming pool, golf course, out door kitchen, bar, games, walks in the area or go biking. At the same time Bordeaux is not far away for a day in the city. I like the combination of rural, city, and relaxation. Jo and Adie are good and welcoming hosts with lots of information about the area. There is a good atmosphere – as a Dane it means a lot that there is a feeling of “hygge” – I look forward to go back again.

Had an amazing week, has to be the most relaxing weeks holiday I’ve ever had. The Gite is amazing, loads of space and everything you need and more. Played golf everyday on their very own 9 holes while my wife relaxed around the lovely pool.
Evenings were great, the bar and gamesroom are amazing and again we had exclusive use of these. Pool, darts, table tennis and table football.
Local towns are lovely, bars, restaurants and markets. Including fabulous night markets where the food is amazing and the atmosphere fantastic.
I was not expecting the scale of les Pignons, the whole place is beautiful and the owners Jo and Adie were fab. Nothing was too much trouble.
Great place, great facilities and great hosts!!

Third time we’ve stayed at this lovely this place. It’s a real haven away from work by the lake, round the pool or around the local countryside. Teenage kids love it too – the summer kitchen is great fun with pool table, table tennis and darts. Jo and Adie are very welcoming. They gave us great tips in where to go locally and Adie is never shy to challenge you to a game of pool or table tennis. Thank you!
